God's Disruptive Grace

Jonah 1:1-16 Jonah proves to be a disobedient prophet, along with the sailors who are an idolatrous bunch who don't even know the God of Israel - yet God in his sovereignty sends a great storm to disrupt both Jonah and the sailors in the midst of their rebellion. In the end, it's the sacrifice of Jonah (the guilty one) that leads to the end of the storm and the salvation of the sailors (the innocent ones), which points to Jesus being the greater Jonah who sacrificed himself (the innocent one) to save sinners like us (the guilty ones).

Scripture References: Jonah 1:1-16, Matthew 12:38-42
