RETURN to the LORD
The prophet calls Israel a final time to "return to the Lord". These words could also be looked back on after Israel had fallen (judged) to the Assyrians. Even then, God was inviting them to return to Him. There was the opportunity for a new beginning in the Lord! Whenever someone truly desires to return to the Lord, it requires genuine repentance and renouncing the things we have been substituting for God. And when people genuinely return to Him, God promises to restore them. This chapter (v4-7) provides a beautiful picture of all the Lord promises to do when His people "return to Him"!
