No More Chances
God never makes empty promises (He keeps them), and likewise, He does not give empty warnings. Israel has been warned and called to repent and turn back to Him yet they have stubbornly refused. Time has run out for Israel - God will no longer delay His judgment. Through some more visions and other descriptions, God clearly conveys this through Amos in these closing passages. While God gives many chances in His kindness and patience and warnings, chances will run out - His patience, kindness are meant to lead us to repentance - may we not despise the riches of His kindness...
