Pursuing our Joy in God

We will spend this last Sunday in our series on "The JOY of the Lord". This week's sermon - "Pursuing our Joy in God". We will look at various short passages (not one text). Throughout Scriptures, God's people are commanded to rejoice, be glad, and delight in the Lord. When it comes to obedience, we are not only to obey as duty but as delight. God doesn’t only command obedience; He commands JOY. Obedience and joy are not separate; they go hand in hand! And yet the reality is that many Christians relationship with the Lord is not filled with joy, gladness, delight... Why does being “happy in God” seem foreign to many who profess faith in Christ and “believe in God”? We'll look at three reasons we get this wrong and how the Lord intends (and causes) us to pursue joy in Him!
