When God's People Stray
Amos speaks of how judgment is imminent and what the judgment will be. What this passage also reveals is what caused Israel to stray so far from the Lord - things they forgot, neglected, and did not heed. And because they have strayed so far from Him and His ways, God will punish (chastise, discipline) them. We too are prone to straying from the Lord. May the Lord keep us close to Him.
